Song and Light

The song

Of your voice

As you fall asleep

The light

On your face

Waking up

In the morning

As you look away

Get up.

Get ready.

For bed.

The shift

Of your muscles

As you move

From space to space

The little things

I notice

Appreciate

As new

Each day a changin'

Kaleidoscope.

Of time.

Of color.

With purpose

Precious precision

Noted and loved

The fold

Of your elbow

The shape

Of your words

Wet

Or dry.

Lilting Smiles.

Grating Frowns.

Acting and inert

Conflicted and sure

All sprung

Radiantly resplendent

Catching the glimpses

The range

Of interpretation

Light and dark.

Brown and pink.

Green or grey.

The big events

In our lives

The mundane moments

I want you

In the pictures

And the songs,

To live it all

The structures

Of our lives.

Exactly as I am.

We are.

Ever-changing.
